“2007 ANSWERED PRAYERS”
I have personally had God answer a prayer – it was back in September on the 24th…..here’s the details:
I walked out the door to my apartment building around 6:15 am and my car was gone. So I had to call the guy I was giving a ride to so he could get to work (I think he had his daughter take him)….and I called my boss and the police. It took about 45 minutes for the police to come and file the report. I couldn’t remember my license plate number (I’m not sure anyone does unless they have a special one)….and the good news there was I wasn’t ‘wanted for anything’ which wasn’t real surprising…. just kidding!
So when it got to around 9 am I called my insurance – and found out that my insurance wouldn’t cover the stolen car as I just carry the minimum (PLPD)! But my golf clubs, mitt, tools, etc. would be covered under my renters insurance – but I have a $500 deductible – and my stuff wasn’t worth $500! So I was out of everything and had to buy everything from scratch – not a big deal but it was definitely expenses I hadn’t budgeted……..
Now for the good news!!! By 5:30 that night a friend had loaned me a car to use until I found another one and I had so many calls that I knew my friends really love and care about me – that felt really good! So I went and played pool and was at dinner when I got a call from a friend (who also lives in the apartment complex I live in) – I told her my car was stolen so I was having a really bad day……and she came back with “Its not stolen – its right here in front of my apartment!” AND IT WAS – AND IT WASN’T DAMAGED – NO WINDOWS OR LOCKS BROKEN OR ANYTHING TAKEN…..So the police made their second trip to here and filed a second report…
So by the end of the day – I was reminded by how blessed I am AND got my car back!!! GOD IS GOOD!!!. God answered my prayers for a quick and easy solution for me in record time!
As a member of the prayer team, I have been able to see many of the requests that God has answered in our church family here at Living Stones Church. We would like to stop for a moment and realize how much God is working in our lives here at Living Stones Church. But we also recognize the personal aspect of many of the requests…and we are going to respect those.
If you are willing to share your answered request, please add it as a comment to this post. We know that God works and answers our prayers! Let’s get a great list going here and show the territory and the world that God is alive and with us on the South Side of South Bend!

In July, I went to the doctor with a stomachache that I’d had for more than two weeks. The first doctor I saw ran tests for ulcers and gall bladder issues, but he couldn’t find anything. The second doctor ran all kinds of blood tests to check for anything unusual. The day after the blood tests, the doctor called me at home and told me that there were some abnormalities in my blood that pointed to leukemia. I was told to check myself into the hospital (for a one-night stay) as soon as possible so that tests could be run to rule out leukemia. Two hours later, I was on the cancer floor of the hospital, waiting to have a bone marrow aspiration. The oncologist had the results the next day, and he confirmed that I had acute myeloid leukemia. Jason and I were devastated and terrified. Both of our families live in Texas, so that was also very hard, and we had to deliver the news to our parents over the phone. Jason’s mother said that she will never forget that phone call.
My oncologist laid out the treatment plan, and I was supposed to start chemo the very next day. We had no time to process anything; the doctor made the decisions, and we just had to follow along blindly. The hardest part (besides finding out I had cancer) was finding out that I would have to stay in the hospital for a month.
The day I was admitted to the hospital was a Saturday, and Jason and I were supposed to have a youth group meeting at our house. Obviously, we had to call and let everyone know that the meeting needed to be moved, and Jason told them why. Literally, within a couple of hours of being admitted to the hospital, people from the church were sitting with us in my room. We were able to pray with them, hug them, cry with them. And we weren’t alone anymore. I was added to the prayer list of not only Living Stones, but of churches across South Bend and Texas. I received cards, emails, and phone calls from not only friends and family, but from total strangers who had heard about me from someone else. The coolest part was that everyone was praying for complete healing. I was so encouraged by the outpouring of love that Jason and I received, and I could feel their prayers. I had my moments of being sad, but God gave Jason and me such a peace about everything, that it was hard to stay down for long. We got nothing but good reports from the oncologist. I had no side effects (other than hair loss), and I had absolutely zero complications. At the beginning, Sam prayed that it would be a breeze for me, and that prayer was totally answered.
I was released from the hospital after three weeks (less than the month they had originally told me!). I was declared to be in remission and completely cancer-free! I had three subsequent rounds of chemo starting in August (one each month for three months) that each required a week-long hospital stay. Again, no side effects and no complications.
Seven (almost eight) months later, I’m totally healthy. I have to see the oncologist once a month for blood work. He went so far as to tell me (twice) that his gut told him the cancer would not be back. Hearing that was an answer to prayer because I was terrified that it would come back, and I asked God to help me deal with my fear. I love how he answered that prayer!
I know that God doesn’t always answer prayers the way we want him to. While I was waiting for the results of the biopsy, I prayed that I wouldn’t have leukemia. And yeah, cancer stinks, but I don’t wish it hadn’t happened the way it did. I was so blessed through the whole ordeal, and I know that Jason and our families were too. And we were able to see our prayers for healing be answered, which helped to strengthen our faith and encourage us. I hope that everyone who prayed for us was encouraged in some way.

Miranda,
God worked a miracle in your life and through your cancer, He worked miracles in many other lives as well….including mine. You are His child as well as mine. I learned to trust in Him like I have never trusted before. There was nothing I could “fix” this time in my child’s life. And believe me, I tried. You fixed your sights on Him and showed me and thousands of other people how faith in God really works. He has been glorifed many times through your faith! May His light continue to shine through your life and all of those you’ve touched. I love you so much!
